Venis Hotel

Venis Hotel is a four-star property in Selita e Vogël, a calm residential pocket on the south-western side of Tirana, a short drive from Skanderbeg Square and only minutes from the Grand Park and its artificial lake. Rated 9.3 “Superb” across 1,336 reviews, it suits travellers who want a quiet night's sleep without giving up quick access to the Albanian capital.

Accommodation runs from 24 m² deluxe doubles to a 60 m² two-bedroom suite, with king rooms, family rooms, a deluxe studio and an executive suite in between. All are air-conditioned and soundproofed, with private bathrooms, minibars, flat-screen TVs, work desks and garden views; several add a balcony, a terrace or a private entrance.

The modern, family-friendly restaurant serves Mediterranean dishes with halal options, and breakfast comes as continental, buffet or vegetarian, with warm dishes, cheese and fruit. A garden, terrace, bar and coffee house fill out the common areas, while free private parking, a 24-hour front desk and an airport shuttle handle the practical side of a city stay.

The hotel's rooms

Venis Hotel has ten rooms in total; the eight below cover the full range, from a 24 m² double to a 60 m² two-bedroom suite. Beyond that they differ in useful ways: the King Room, Family Room and Deluxe Double add a balcony and a private entrance, the two family types take a third guest on a sofa bed, and the two suites at the end give separate living space to couples and to groups of four. Location and what to see

Getting there

Venis Hotel sits on Rruga Isuf Elezi in Selita e Vogël, a residential street on the south-western side of Tirana. Tirana International Airport Mother Teresa is about 14 km away by road, roughly 16 to 25 minutes by car depending on traffic; the hotel can arrange a paid airport shuttle, and official airport taxis run at a flat rate of around €22. The cheapest route is the Rinas Express bus, which runs around the clock, leaves on the hour, costs about 400 lek and drops off beside Skanderbeg Square — from there it is a short taxi ride to the hotel. Free private parking is available on site and needs no reservation, which makes this a practical base if you are picking up a hire car for the coast or the mountains. The nearest railway station, at Kashar, is about 8 km away.

What to see

The neighbourhood itself is quiet and green, the kind of area where locals live rather than tourists, with cafés and small restaurants within a few hundred metres. The Grand Park of Tirana and its artificial lake begin about 1.5 km east and are the city's best spot for a morning walk. Central Tirana is around 2.3 km away: Skanderbeg Square, the National Museum of History with its famous mosaic façade, the Clock Tower and the National Gallery of Arts sit close together and are easily covered on foot once you arrive. The House of Leaves, the former secret-police surveillance villa, and the Former Residence of Enver Hoxha in the Blloku district tell the communist-era story, while Bunk'Art 1, about 6.5 km out near the base of the Dajti Ekspres cable car, is worth the trip for the mountain views alone. April to June and September to October bring the most comfortable weather; July and August can be very hot.
